Car Rental Terms & Conditions
Reservations:
All reservations are made based on the vehicle category, not for a specific model. In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Vstar reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category car, at no extra charge for the customer.
Driver:
23 years old is the minimum age requirement for using cars of all categories.
Driving license:
Production of a valid license for driving in the Greek territory and the E.U., issued at least 1 year prior to the rental’s starting date, is required. Citizens of countries outside the E.U. are required to be in possession of a driver’s license valid both in Greece and in the European Union, or otherwise holders of an international driver’s license which they are required to present together with the valid driver’s license issued in their country.
Traffic tickets – Fines:
Traffic tickets and fines due to violations of the Highway Code are borne by the Renter. In addition, the Renter undertakes the payment of management costs, where required.
Means of Payment:
The Renter is required to produce a credit card as guarantee for the rental, even if payment is made in cash. Rental is prepaid.

Should you wish to cancel a reservation, you should contact the company through the reservations system of which you made the reservation.

The following charges shall apply for the cancellation of reservations: In case of a cancellation notice received by Vstar at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the vehicle’s rental, any amount prepaid shall be refunded. In case of a cancellation notice received by Vstar less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the vehicle’s rental, there shall be no refund of any amount that may have been prepaid.

After hours deliveries – collections:
Customer charge €25+VAT.
Out of station deliveries – collections:
Deliveries and collections out of stations take place upon request by the customer. The extra charge for deliveries-collections within cities is 15€+VAT, while for out-of-town deliveries-collections, the cost is 30€+VAT, plus 1.79€+VAT per km.
Additional driver:
The charge for each additional driver is 5€ per day for up to 5 days and 3.5€ per day for 6 days and more. The maximum number of drivers is set at 3persons.
Child seat:
The charge for child seat is set at 5€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability.
Snow chains:
The charge for snow chains is set at 10€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability.
Fuel:
The lessee must return the car with the same amount of fuel that he received. In case of returning the car with a smaller amount of fuel than the original amount (ie the amount of fuel the customer received the vehicle) the customer is charged with the difference in fuel and the service fee of €15+VAT. No compensation is foreseen for the customer if the car is returned with a larger amount of fuel than was received. Vehicles are delivered with a minimum amount of fuel corresponding to ¼ of the tank.
Mileage:
For rentals longer than 3 days, free mileage of 70km/day up to 2500km is provided. For rentals of less than 3 days, the prices include a 150 km/day restriction. In the latter case, if the lessee wants free kilometers then he can choose the free kilometers package with a charge according to the respective price list. Otherwise, every additional kilometer over 150 km/day will be charged to the customer when returning the vehicle with a fee according to the respective price list per category.
Accident:
In case of an accident, the customer is charged with 15€+VAT for the accident file administration costs.
INSURANCES:
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver:
The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage:
over 750€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the VP,VD,V1,V2 categories
over 950€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the V3,V4,V2F,V3F categories
over 1250€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the V5,V6, V4F,V5F categories
over 600€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the IX categories and subcategories
As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.
Insurance Limits:
Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily harm up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€) per accident and for material damages by third parties (excluding the AVANCE vehicle) up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€). In case of change of the above limits, the minimum limits, as defined by the applicable Greek legislation, shall always apply. Damages exceeding the insurance coverage limit, or excluded by it, shall be fully paid by the customer.
LW: Tire and glass break coverage:
The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car’s tires or glass only provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of
10€/ rental day for all categories
Theft :
The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car in the event of theft, provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 10€/ rental day for all categories.
Main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or of unlawful conduct during the vehicle’s rental.
Road Assistance:
Vstar cars are covered by 24hours road assistance. Road assistance’s contact details are stated on the rental contract.
Car transport out of the country:
Transport and driving of the car outside the borders of the Greek Territory is prohibited. Driving of the car out of the country is allowed exceptionally and only upon written permission by the company and payment of the amount which the company shall determine in each case.
Car transport by ship:
For the car’s transport by ship, the company’s written approval is required.
Roof rack:
It is available in some types of vehicle in consultation with Vstar and the charge is set at 3€/day.
Vehicle GPS:
-In the context of the personal data protection policy of the new Regulation 2016/679, we must inform the contracting party/lessee that for reasons of legal interest of our company and more specifically for the safety of the vehicles in cases of theft, damage or any other criminal offense, there are installed GPS trackers that are activated 24 hours a day. These will be recorded discreetly without affecting personal or other data.
- Our Company does not transmit, share or disclose personal data to third parties. Our company may disclose personal data in order to respond to requests from courts, judicial authorities, governmental or law enforcement authorities or where it is necessary or prudent to comply with applicable law, court orders or rules or orders of courts or judicial authorities. Disclosures of personal data may also be required for privacy and security audits and/or to investigate or respond to a complaint or security threat.
